Children are as it is endowed with a great sense of imagination. You can use this propensity to develop the personality of your children substantially by buying them robot kits. What are these you might ask?
For those people who are not aware about robot kits, let me tell you they are toys with a difference. The difference between normal toys and robot kits lies in the sense of construction, creation, and use that children can get out of the latter. The great thing about this sense is that the child then feels that it is he/she who has created the robot all on his own.
Technology Robotix Society invites all robot enthusiasts to ROBOTIX 2011. Robotix is Asia's largest college level robotics fest held in IIT Kharagpur during its techno-management fest Kshitij from 28th-31st Jan 2011. Robotix 2010 was a success with a participation from over 450 teams with over 2.5 lakhs worth prize money being distributed.Robotix is set to return in 2011 with more challenging events and over 3 lakhs to be given away in prize money.

THIRD GENERATION (3G) TECHNOLOGY 

International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT — 2000), better known as 3G or 3rd Generation, is a generation of standards for mobile phones and mobile telecommunications services fulfilling specifications by the International Telecommunication Union. Application services include wide-area wireless voice telephone, mobile Internet access, video calls and mobile TV, all in a mobile environment. Compared to the older 2G 2.5G standards, a 3G system must allow simultaneous use of speech and data services, and provide peak data rates of at least 200 kbit/s according to the IMT-2000 specification. Recent 3G releases, often denoted 3.5G and 3.75G, also provide mobile broadband access of several Mbit/s to laptop computers and smartphones. and
Mobile telephones, the 1st generation of which were introduced in the mid-1980's, have been constantly evolving since their inception. Today, over 2B mobile phones are in usage and around 80% of the world's population is within reach of a mobile phone signal). Mobile phones have traditionally been used for voice communications, but today can serve as the platform for a variety of communication outputs -- including data and video. 3G is the third-generation of mobile phone technology standards. The typical services associated with 3G include wireless voice telephony and broadband wireless data, all in a mobile environment. However, with the capability for high-speed wireless data transfer, 3G has enhanced or made possible a myriad of additional applications such as mobile video, secure mobile ecommerce  location-based services, mobilegaming  and audio on demand. For example, using 2.5G (or a slightly better version of second-generation wireless) a three-minute song takes between six and nine minutes to download. Using 3G, it can download in 11 to 90 seconds.

The LCD optical engine is enclosed to prevent dust from entering the engine, which decreases the number of particles landing on the LCD panels, and keeps the image cleaner. Mitsubishi's HC5000BL delivers HQV through Silicon Optix's Reon-VX chip, which provides true HQV four-field, motion-adaptive, per-pixel, high-definition (HD) deinterlacing that delivers the sharpest and most detailed HD images possible. The HQV multi-direction diagonal filter removes any "jaggies" and/or stair-step artifacts from deinterlaced video sources without blurring the image, while sophisticated noise reduction technology removes the noise and artifacts caused by compression.
Using Mitsubishi's exclusive algorithms to control its dynamic iris, the HC5000BL also boasts one of the highest contrast ratios available today, achieving an unprecedented 10,000:1 for the most exacting features in dark areas of an image. These new algorithms detect and maximize color information as well as luminance, creating realistic detail in film noir and action flicks. With up to 5000 hours of lamp-life (in low mode),  Through an easily accessed lamp housing, users simply switch the lamps without taking the mounting structure apart and physically handling the projector.


Recently we have taken a look at our HDD section and found that our previous roundup of 1-terabyte models is almost 1 year old. It is an eternity by the standards of the IT industry. Of course, we have been busy writing reviews of 750GB drives and 640GB drives but the pause is rather too long anyway.
In fact, we could have written a review (or even several reviews) of 1-terabyte drives a long time ago. But being perfectionists, we wanted to accumulate a full collection of drives with 333GB platters. It is Hitachi’s drives that made us wait the most. Announced in July 2008, the Deskstar 7K1000.B series reached us in January 2009 only.
This wait is over now and we can exhaustively cover the topic of hard disk drives with 333GB platters. It’s high time we did this since 500GB-platter models are already coming up (e.g. Seagate ST31000528AS).
Before we describe the drives we are going to test, we’ll remind you of the events that have happened in the 1-terabyte sector recently.

Although servers can be built from commodity computer parts, mission-critical enterprise servers are ideally very fault tolerant and use specialized hardware with low failure rates in order to maximize uptime, for even a short-term failure can cost more than purchasing and installing the system. F Servers may incorporate faster, higher-capacity hard drives, larger computer fans or water cooling to help remove heat, and uninterruptible power supplies that ensure the servers continue to function in the event of a power failure. These components offer higher performance and reliability at a correspondingly higher price. Hardware redundancy—installing more than one instance of modules such as power supplies and hard disks arranged so that if one fails another is automatically available—is widely used. ECC memory devices that detect and correct errors are used; non-ECC memory is more likely to cause data corruption.

FOURTH GENERATION MUSIC TECHNOLOGY


Pod is a portable media player designed and marketed by Apple and launched on October 23, 2001. The product line-up currently consists of the hard drive-based iPod Classic, the touchscreen iPod Touch, the iPod Nano, and the compact iPod Shuffle. i Pod Classic models store media on an internal hard drive, while all other models use flash memory to enable their smaller size (the discontinued Mini used a Microdrive miniature hard drive). As with many other digital music players, iPods can also serve as external data storage devices. Storage capacity varies by model, ranging from 2 GB for the iPod Shuffle to 160 GB for the iPod Classic. All of the models have been redesigned multiple times since their introduction. The most recent iPod redesigns were introduced on September 1, 2010.
Apple's iTunes software can be used to transfer music to the devices from computers using certain versions of Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows operating systems.For users who choose not to use iTunes or whose computers cannot run iTunes, several open source alternatives are available for the iPod. iTunes and its alternatives may also transfer photos, videos, games, contact information, e-mail settings, Web bookmarks, and calendars to iPod models supporting those features.The iPod branding is also used for the media player applications included with the iPhone and iPad; the iPhone version is essentially a combination of the Music and Videos apps on the iPod Touch. Both devices can therefore function as iPods, but they are generally treated as separate products.


WATER CAR


Dave March, founder of WaterCar, Inc., has been building cars & boats since 1976 when he opened his collision repair facility in Fountain Valley, California.  Since then, he has repaired and re-built thousands of vehicles at his facility, Fountain Valley Body Works, which is now  one of the largest and most highly respected collision repair facilities in the industry.
In the late 1990’s, Dave March noticed that a number of design specifications between cars and boats were being shared.  Boat manufactures were using lightweight high-performance automotive-type engines.  Car manufacturers were  incorporating light-weight marine-type composite and alloy bodies and chassis.  Additionally, automotive  manufacturers were using materials specially manufactured to be extremely corrosion resistant.  This gave Dave the idea of developing high-performance cars that could be driven on the water, and WaterCar, Inc. was born.
Dave’s vision was to see  high-performance cars that were also high-performance boats.  But he was not interested in previous amphibious vehicles that just float around.  He was interested in designing a high-performance automobile capable of getting to plane on top of the  water.  His expectation was to reach  freeway speeds in the water!  His  task was to incorporate the very latest materials and components into the  optimum design for an amphibious vehicle.
